Steve began flying model aircraft when he was 15, soloed at 16 in gliders and 17 in powered aircraft.  Steve joined the RAF as a fighter pilot, serving for 16 years flying Lightning, Phantom, Tucano and Hawk aircraft.

Steve has flown historic and aerobatic aircraft at air displays throughout the UK and Europe in Spitfire, Mustang, Corsair, Sea Fury, Pitts Special and Extra 300.

After the RAF, Steve joined Virgin Atlantic and Captain on the Dreamliner. Steve built a small aircraft and flew solo to Cape Town and back, claiming the world record.

He has been awarded the Britannia trophy for the most meritorious flight by a UK pilot in a given year, he also holds the Masters Medal from the Honourable Company of pilots and a Queens Commendation for Valuable Services in the Air.
